Filipina Brides And Marriage Resource

i wish i knew the tagalog for 'you sad little man.'

all i know is tatay mo kalbo. (used to crack us up when we were kids.)

that doesn't fit the situation somehow.

[via feckless, though were she finds this stuff i don't know.]

Come on, ding, you know how to say that in filipino.

You look him up and down, say "hmph" to yourself and then turn your back on him.

And then, just loud enough for him to hear, you mutter "pathetic talaga."

Remember to pronounce it "pa-te-tic"

you know, i read that wall street journal article and can't get that yucky taste out of my mouth. So middle aged white women can't get a date in Asia - gee, what's new? - but she'll stay there because she'll get ahead quicker, she's creme de la creme in the echelons of muddy corporate culture. If she went back to Canada, she'll just be one of many just like her.
So women like her complain about sexist attitudes in Asia but are more than comfortable being fully complicit in the racial and political hierarchies imposed by white western paradigm.

Anyway, I'd love to say "pa-te-tic" to anyone.
