it's not often that a few hours with a guy can move Ding to poetry, but last night's romp with the newly met S- made me think of these lines from Donne:

thou, angel, bring’st with thee
A heaven like Mahomet’s paradise; and though
Ill spirits walk in white, we easily know
By this these angels from an evil sprite,
Those set our hairs, but these our flesh upright.
License my roving hands, and let them go
Before, behind, between, above, below.
O my America! my new-found-land,
My kingdom, safeliest when with one man manned,
My mine of precious stones, my empery,
How blest am I in this discovering thee!
To enter in these bonds is to be free;
There where my hand is set, my seal shall be.
Full nakedness! All joys are due to thee.

here's to more summer poetry.

Oh. My. Gawd.
How fabulous.

I bought one of those Dover dollar versions of Donne's poetry a couple years ago when Sion and I went driving up the coast to be by ourselves. Sat on a veranda looking out over the mud and birds of Morro Bay and read this poem aloud, remembering swooning over it all those years ago. Yay for Sexy Poetry!

And yes, I may well be the mayor of dork city.

I couldn't find your email, so I'll say it here: me too me too. I started a blog. It was only a matter of time.

orange: it was very hubba hubba. nearly an hour of happy happy foreplay. totally made cleaning up my room worth it.

liza: if you're mayor of dorktown, then i'm mayor of geekville. who thinks of metaphysical poetry in the middle of foreplay?

and i can still see us giggling in the tutoring room, repeating "between, above, below!"
i have your email address so i'll send you mine.

can't wait to see it!

Perfect! I'm going to live vicariously through you and your dating adventures this summer. Don't let me down!

jc: i walked down to the boy store, picked him out and took him home! (just kidding - though there is some truth to that...) where do i spend all my time? online. so, yeah. he's a cyberboy. guy, actually. ok, man, if i must.

what do i like about him? he's the polar opposite of B-. social, laid back, uncomplicated, not on meds and willing to drive down to my neighborhood. of course, he could be a serial killer just waiting for his moment to make a Ding Skin Suit, but i'm hoping that he's not.

R: i will endeavor to provide fun dating stories this summer. already, i can see some potential!

heh.

a. Go Ding!
b. I had *no* idea that Donne wrote hot poetry!

his early stuff is all hot. (then he gets older and has a family and then all the hotness is saved for God.)

i still read him.

ding, did you know that foreplay need never lose its starring role? It's true. I hear it often wanes as a relationship proceeds, but I'm 19 years into my current relationship and gooood foreplay is a constant.

i once thought that but i guess my expectations got lowered once foreplay lasted all of 15 minutes and had the feel of an ex-con who finally got to be with a woman, at last. (you know - sort of desperate and quick.)

you're lucky that mr. orange is such an attentive dude. should that we all find a mr. orange!
