because of something i read over at I Blame the Patriarchy, i'm now in the process of reevaluating my talent for and, heretofore-thought, pleasure at giving oral.

it's not to tittillate (?) that i mention these things. it's a political question!

Everything about that conversation upset me, and I should have stayed out. Not that I'm good at doing that.

Feminism is a spectrum.

i haven't read all the stuff yet (haven't had the time) - what was upsetting?

For a moment, I thought JP wrote "Feminism is a speculum."

Speculism is a femulum.

Just the way it got into "more feminist than thou" and "feminism is all about choice!!"nonsense.

ah. i understand.

i caught up on your blog today and i was fascinated at the men's thread about sex and sexuality. i wish there was more of a language for men to use when they talk about sex/sexuality. i know that there can be, but our culture so seldom allows for spaces for it that go beyond 'bad lads' or 'squishy sensitivity' prattle.

I know! I liked that thread too, but dang, guys need to talk about that stuff a lot more.

my friends and i joke that, while we were sneaking books like The Thorn Birds when we were 13, our guy counterparts were too busy playing Risk, thus dooming us to be forever out of synch.

remember that crappy nyt article on the 'man-date'? if two straight guys can barely have dinner alone together without getting defensive about being thought gay, the chances of an entire class of men talking frankly about their sexuality (if they even recognize they have one) is less than likely.

i think we can safely cross out generations X, Y and O.

but i'll hold out hope for little guys like your PK and Orange's little Tangerine (uh, Ben?).
