and the beat goes on...

another story of pharmacists refusing to fill scrips for birth control.

via Bitch. Ph.D.

chicago had its first case of this a few weeks ago and the protest against it was organized by planned parenthood (i heart PP). this nonsense is spreading to the cities and we *must* do something. ignorance and a facile reading of the bible shouldn't be allowed to force a woman to have children she doesn't want.

no disrespect to pharmacists, but since when were they valued for their moral positions?

Isn't the gig basically: read prescrip, get pills, place in bottle, hand over?

I'm with you on the something must be done front, and to that end, the media MUST be held accountable and considered complicit in the spreading of religious motives as though they were law of the land, and not merely the beliefs of some.

True, the media doesn't exactly instruct pharmacists to deny birth control (and other nefarities) but they also don't howl like wolves as they ought to, when government is CLEARLY and wildly out of control.

Lacking this function of the media, our culture is fast becoming subsumed by the will of the few, very, VERY obsessed and off-balance folks in desperate need of counseling.

Sorry..wasn't as clear above as I intended..still groggy.. What I wanted to add was:

Where I feel the media plays a role in this, is that they don't speak up and call government when certain leaders not only pander to, but apparently intend to FOIST the beliefs of the far religious right on the rest of us.

I don't and will never believe that the media "can't" do this, or that their hands are tied. Bull Zarkies!
I believe that corporate ownership is in lockstep with the regime in power and that they are working toward similar ends, and are therefore cooperating with one another.

Ain't no mistake...it's deliberate.
