all of us are in a tizzy of planning (wardrobes, activities, day trips, food, music, wardrobes.) we haven't been able to work sensibly for the past hour. the group blog is already up and there is NO POINT in getting any work done. we're going to italy!

YAY! Travel! Villa! Group trip with adventures. And probably, shopping *wince* sorry. That one just slipped out having read your previous entry just now. I was in Seville two years ago, for a conference, with some friends, and they all wanted to shop. Which for me, a fellow big soft girl, was terrible. Not even shoes (I also rock a size 11). Pretending to only care about handbags sucks. Still, planning a trip is one of the very most fun parts of travel, I think.
I'm going to India this summer. It blows my mind, and all I can do is a cross between plan and daydream. I'm not really in charge of the trip, Sion's new job is. But still. Yay travel!

i've never traveled on this kind of scale before, you know? (last minute travel to paris for an elopement or to amsterdam for help with a friend's dissertation doesn't really compare.)

this is like a real vacation. i've never had a REAL vacation before.

i hate just shopping for accessories. 'oh, no, really. i just want this scarf. yeah, it's great.' (thinking, meanwhile, fuckers!) my roomie once went into a nicole miller boutique to look for some wedding clothes (she was shopping for a maid of honor dress) and the skinny wench salesgirl actually said, as soon as she walked in, 'our handbags are in the back.' my roommate went into an immediate rage and made the manager come out to school the salesgirl on proper customer care.

and that's awesome about india. i'm not up for that kind of trip, yet. one day!

Oh no, I'm so envious! You must promise to send postcards!

we will do better than postcards. we're going to have a trip blog (roomie already created a pre-trip blog) and we'll post pics, stories and whatever else strikes our fancy.

i'm so excited about it, i could pee.

I've decided this year that I'm traveling like an adult. Overnight layovers, more than one pair of shoes... I may even check a bag!

i shudder to think how you've been traveling...
no checked bags? overseas? just one pair of shoes?
