Yeah, it's definitely completely nuts. However, we're never going to get better elected officials until we start running for office. I think you can keep your soul and your life reasonably intact running at the citywide and statewide level, and you can have a tangible impact on your community. Do it! I will make sure that my friends and acquaintances in Chicago vote for you.
